AIR – BUBBLES

MATERIALS

  • Bottle
  • Transparent basin or bowl
  • Water
  • ping pong ball

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE EXPERIMENT

  1. First, invert an empty bottle into the basin filled with water.

WHAT HAPPENS?

  • The water does not completely occupy the bottle
  • The bottom of the bottle remain empty.

WHY?

Due to the presents of the air inside the bottle, it does not allow the water to reach the bottom of the bottle.

2. Second, incline the bottle slightly.

WHAT HAPPENS?

The air present in the bottle will be released.

WHY?

As the water fills the bottle completely, the bubbles from the bottle will stop.
